Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of characters who will separate from the central cast to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as important members in the influential clan could help the group enter locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Planners tables.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
